How Do I Clear My Browser's Cookies and Cached Items?

Issue

I need to clear my browser’s cookies and cached items and don't know how.

Environment

The following browsers and browser versions are recommended for better Kipu EMR performance.

PC and Mac

• Chrome version 20+ (recommended)
• Safari version 6+
• Firefox version 15+

Mobile

• iOS 6 Safari (Web App)

Resolution

Please follow the instructions depending on the browser you are using. 

Chrome 

If you use Google Chrome on your computer, open it.

1. At the top right of the browser window, click the vertical ellipsis. 
   
   
2. Click More tools and then click Clear browsing data.
3. Ensure that the Time range drop-down is set to All time and select the Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files boxes.
   
4. Click Clear data.
    

Safari

If you use Safari on a Mac computer, use the following instructions.

1. 1. Open Safari and then click Safari > Preferences in the header on the top left of the screen.
   
2. Click Privacy > Manage Website Data.
   
3. Select one or more websites, then click Remove All.
   
4. Click Remove Now to finish. 
   

Firefox

If you use Firefox on your computer, follow these instructions.

1. Open Firefox and click the menu icon on the top right.
   
2. Then lick Settings.
   
3. Click Privacy & Security in the menu on the left side of the screen.
   
4. Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section and click Manage Data....
   
5. To remove all cookies and storage data, click Remove All and then Save Changes.
6. Click Clear Now to finish.
   

Please note that clearing your browser's cookies and cached items will sign you out of applications and require you to sign back in with a two-factor authentication code.

Cause

The Kipu EMR is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) application accessible by a web browser. The browser needs to have JavaScript and cookies enabled, which are the default settings. Some issues encountered within the Kipu EMR can be solved by clearing the browser’s cookies and cached items.
